I'm the son of a lifelong inner-city public school teacher and a beloved author of historical fiction for children. I'm the husband of Lyn and the dad of three. I'm solo pastor of Emmaus Road Church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, where our deep joy is to "live out the way of Jesus Christ." I hold an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary and a BA in English and Print Journalism from the University of Wisconsin—River Falls. I'm the author of more than 50 books and study Bibles for youth and adults. I've co-authored books with people including Jane Kise, Ravi Zacharias, Josh McDowell, and Ken Sande.
